WHAT TO EXPECT
On Your First visit

Physical & Postural assessment

An introduction to some of the basic principles and exercises, in order to gain an understanding of how the technique works and assess you level of fitness.

Verbal feedback throughout, to ensure you are working safely and correctly.
If you have experience with pilATES
-
You will be able to perform longer sequences of exercise where the focus will be on the controlled use of energy whilst building stamina and strength throughout

You will be encouraged to set new goals
Subsequent Visits

Once your programme has been designed, it will include working with a range of equipment to reach your goals.

Weekly sessions are recommended for optimum results.

Each session lasts for 1 hour.
If you are a ‘Pilates convert’ or regular attendee

You will perform complex sequences requiring both strength and flexibility, examining the aesthetic of movement

Have a good understanding of injury rehabilitation and prevention
If you are new to this technique
-
You will be introduced to the use of Lateral Thoracic breathing and gain insight into how this breathing technique can not only be a preventative measure for back pain, but can also be a tool when dealing with stress!

You will learn the basics of stabilisation through the strengthening of the pelvic and shoulder girdle, the spine and abdominals

You will work specifically on your goal or area of concern

Where appropriate, you will be introduced to a stretching element to increase mobility / flexibility
