Meet Martha

Pilates Tutor

A professional dancer and dance teacher for over 30 years, I have been teaching equipment based Pilates since 2006.
 

I became involved with the technique for my own personal wellbeing. Pilates played a crucial part in my recovery after a skiing accident left me with an acute knee injury, which required keyhole surgery.
 

Studying to become a certified teacher with Michael King at the Pilates Institute, was an extension of an already established teaching career.
 

For the last 15 years I have been working with young dancer/actor/singers, using this technique as a form of injury prevention and rehabilitation. Added to this, over the last 10 years I have worked closely with physiotherapists and osteopaths to build and support a rehabilitation programme for clients with chronic injuries.

Coming back to Pilates with the understanding of a mature person, I am excited all over again at it’s comprehensive outlook on the physical well being of the body.
